Alison, who normally goes by Allie, is a Registered Dietitian (RD) with experience in communities, the food industry, and in hospital settings. She attained her Master’s in Public Health, specializing in Community Nutrition, from the University of Toronto. With over 7 years of education, Allie has been exposed to many different fields of nutrition. After completion of her schooling and throughout her work experience, she realized her excitement for nutrition lies within the public health sector. This involves educating the public by bringing science into “real-life” nutrition recommendations. Currently, Alison’s role is mainly an educational one; nutrition counselling, providing wellness presentations, resource development, and nutrition communications.
Allie is married to her best friend, Chad. She often refers to Chad on her blog as "MEH" which stands for Meat Eating Husband! If a vegetarian dish is approved by MEH, take note of that recipe! She loves to travel and has been to Turkey, Australia, Lebanon, Mexico, Egypt, and Costa Rica (to name a few!). She has lived and worked in the Middle East and in North America. She loves to explore and learn about the cultural aspects and meanings of food. When Allie isn’t travelling, she loves cooking new recipes, taking cake decorating classes, and regularly participating in yoga and weight lifting classes. Allie loves to help others find achievable solutions that compliment their lifestyles. Please feel free to reach out and say hello!
